Reiki
-
To know what reiki means, this compound Sanskrit word must be separated into two: rei (universal energy) and ki (vital energy). It is a traditional Japanese therapy that began to develop around 1900 by Mikao Usui and later by his son Churijo Hayashi, and consists of laying hands on the body to transmit energy and offer a solution to emotional or physical problems.

Reiki works with the principle that the human being is energy and that when it is blocked, that is when illnesses occur. Through the imposition of hands, that kind of knot that has been created and that prevents the flow of energy is dissolved, thus restoring balance to the body. It is the negative emotions, the traumas and even the bad habits, which end up over time hindering the circulation of vital energy through the chakras, and in these cases it is where reiki intercedes, with the aim that the vital energy flows again, thus improving various health problems.

Reiki acts on your body or physical being, relieving aches and pains and favoring conventional treatments. But it also does it to your spiritual being, allowing you to see things clearly and bringing you into a state of harmony. Although it is not a practice supported by science, some of the benefits of Reiki can be seen at various levels of the body:
Physical
Helping to improve metabolism, injuries, chronic pain from rheumatism, arthritis, back, lumbar, osteoarthritis, migraines and even menstrual pain. It accelerates healing processes and increases the body’s ability to fight against gastrointestinal, skin and ear problems, strengthening the immune system.
Emotional
Providing emotional balance to those who receive therapy, helping in personal growth, ending stress and anxiety, and even depression and mental illness.

This therapy can be used on anyone, including children, the elderly, young people, pregnant women, etc. as it is a complementary and not a substitute therapy. In other words, Reiki could be carried out while you continue your medical or psychological treatment.
